40th Runaround

Employees take part in the Lab’s annual footrace

Over 750 Lab employees participated in the Lab's Runaround on Nov. 17. The footrace has taken place annually since 1977.

The female winner was Jennifer Doyle of the Engineering Division, her sixth victory in a row. The male winner was newcomer Harmen Hoek of the Chemical Sciences Division. The winner of the t-shirt design contest was Rebecca Hartman-Baker of NERSC.

The race was organized by Anytra Henderson, Steve Derenzo, Chris Debernardi, and Bob Smith, with assistance from numerous volunteers on race day.

The winners

Top three finishers were Harmen Hoek (left) in first place, Vedran Jovi in second and Steve Whitelam (not pictured) in third. First place female winner was Jennifer Doyle with Momoe Kato in second and Jana Voriskova in third.
